The Kingdom of Lesotho has been referred to as the Switzerland of Africa where the Besotho hat is a national image.

The balisana, (herd boys) lead a solitary, difficult life while looking after their flocks. They make huts of stone and mud, with a grass roof and a hole in the centre for fire.
Most have a traditional blanket and caps knitted from yarn they spin themselves.
To stay occupied, they’ll play an instrument.

* There will be two treks in this trip. One that involves a more rigorous, beautiful and extremely fulfilling rural hike, to serve Herd Boys in their place of work. Trek two will be less physically challenging and will work in the lowlands serving families there.
